In June 2026, I travelled to Italy. Within my time there, I had travelled to different towns and explored them.

Some notable places I visited were Cascate dell’Acquafraggia, a stunning set of waterfalls.

I also spent time at Parcheggio Spiaggia di Piona, a great beach that hosts various local events. They even have an ice cream van that swings by the beach in the afternoon. On one of the days I was there, the “Swim among the cellars – Colico” event was taking place!

Another highlight was Parchetto della Punta, a fantastic viewpoint in the town of Vercana.

Getting Around the Lake

One of the coolest parts about Lake Como is how you get around. To travel from one side of the lake to the other, you have two main options: taking the winding roads that hug the mountainside, or hopping on the local ferries and boats. Getting out on the water is by far the best way to see the towns from a completely different perspective!

Staying Active in Italy

Even while travelling, I made sure to keep the momentum going. I managed to get out for a bike ride along the lake to take in the views.

I also took a paddleboard out onto the water. I didn’t stay out for too long, but it was a great way to cool off and get a completely different perspective of the mountains.

Training in the summer heat over there is definitely a unique challenge, but you really can’t beat the scenery!
